What the Fudge?
Are you ready for Valentines Day? If not, here is a special treat offered by the Get em Girls, authors behind "The Get ‘em Girls Guide to the Power of Cuisine"...a sassy girl's cook-book.
As Valentines Day approaches a few girls are gathering in New York to give an on site cooking demo of recipes perfect for the romantic holiday. The young ladies are called the Get ‘em Girls and their focus is showing women the art of the kitchen and to their significant other's tummy!
The Get ‘em Girls are comprised of Shakara Bridges, Jeniece Isley and Joan A. Davis, and together they will converge in The Cellar at Macy's (in Herald Square) on February 5th, to give all those women who love to indulge in the kitchen a real treat! They will offer tips and recipes on how to spice up your love life.
Their 1st book "The Get ‘em Girls Guide to the Power of Cuisine" has been selling out across the country. Delicious treats include Lip Puckering Lemonade, Simple and Sinful Banana Pudding, Kiss o' Honey Potatoes, Flirty Fortune Cookies and more! They even offer Table 101 which offers tips on how to set a dinner table...it even includes where all the utensils should be placed (by number!).
In addition there are 10 reasons why you should cook for your man, the plan of action and if he's worthy of all that work!
Whatever you decide to do for Valentines day and beyond, the ladies will let you in on a few secrets and have opted to share one of those scrumptious desserts with you, for those who can't trek it up to NYC in the cold of winter!
Here is an exclusive recipe, offered by the sassy cookers. Chocolate covered strawberries are my absolute favorite, however, with Hazelnut added it will have you saying "What the Fudge?"
Hazelnut Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries
1 cup hazelnut-chocolate spread (recommended: Nutella)
1 tablespoon heavy cream
1 pint fresh strawberries, stems intact, washed, and thoroughly air dried
1. In a small bowl, vigorously whisk together the hazelnut chocolate spread and the cream until it reaches the consistency of melted chocolate. Set aside.
2. Carefully spear the strawberries with toothpicks. Working quickly, swirl each strawberry gently in the chocolate mixture, about halfway up the fruit. Place the strawberries on a parchment paper-lined platter. Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator to harden slightly.
Makes 4 servings
The following recipe can be found in their first book which is filled with mouth watering desserts and meals. I guarantee you'll become an expert in the kitchen and maybe your relationship will get a bit more exciting too. After all this is a book on recipes teaching women how to Get ‘em Girls!
