Chocolate drinks have forever been something you have thought as given to children, such as hot cocoa and chocolate milk, but chocolate has taken on a whole new adult look, which surprisingly isn’t really that new-age either. Dating back to the era of Mesoamericans, the start of beer and chocolate began. They had developed chocolate as a by-product of fermenting cacao fruit to make a beer-like drink called chicha that is still brewed in Southern American by tribes.
Now men have something that they can swoon about when it comes time for Valentine’s Day since Sam Adams released their chocolate bock flavor, which is a dark, malty brew containing chocolate as one of the main flavors.
Rogue’s chocolate stout is an American stout that pairs well with beef and desserts. This dark brew is ebony in color with a rich and creamy head. There are hints of oats, chocolate malts and real chocolate, which is balanced by the bitter taste of hops.
Hangar 24’s Chocolate Pumpkin Porter:
Just in time for the season, Hangar 24 released their newest chocolate pumpkin porter on the 22nd of October. It’s currently only available on tap in a brewery but hopefully will be packaged in a bottle soon enough. It seems to be a favorite among beer drinkers thus far and definitely worth a try if you’re a fan of pumpkin, chocolate and porters.
Terrapin Moo Hoo Chocolate Milk Stout:
We have all heard of Yoo Hoo but have you heard of Moo Hoo? Terrapin has a beer that’s sure to please chocolate milk drinkers all over. This chocolate milk stout combines cocoa nibs and shells from Olive and Sinclair Chocolate Company to create a delicious, rich brew.
