Turin Bailey's Irish Cream Chocolates

Turin, who seems to have a Spanish site but not an English one, makes a wide variety of liquor filled chocolates. They produce chocolates filled with Grand Marnier, Jack Daniels, Jose Cuervo Especial, Kahlúa, and Bailey's Irish Cream. On a whim, I decided to try the Bailey's Irish Cream filled chocolates. These are milk chocolate filled with a ganache made with Bailey's. Now, I like Bailey's but I'm not a huge fan; mostly I've used it for cooking (note: Irish coffee is not made with Bailey's) or served it over ice.

The chocolate is mid-range quality milk chocolate; it's a little on the waxy side, and a little on the sweet side, but I'm very fond of dark chocolate, so that's at least partly a matter of personal taste. The filling is very definitely Bailey's, and made with Bailey's—they're even allowed to use Bailey's trademarks on the packaging. Each chocolate is wrapped in gold foil, and then a brightly colored Bailey-logo cellophane wrapper is twisted around the gold foiled chocolates. The chocolates themselves came in a small bag of 12 pieces of chocolate. They were a treat, and a nice companion for a cup of coffee, but I wouldn't buy them again. I'd rather make a Bailey's Irish Cream cheesecake, or even make my own chocolates, made with good quality dark chocolate.
