Have you heard of chocolate furniture?

Have you heard of chocolate furniture?

No really. There is normal furniture, you know the stuff you sit on, dine on, whatever upon and then there is this - chocolate furniture. I mean I love a good couch and all, but wow this is both cool and a bit odd. See this isn’t a leather couch, but a cake decorated to resemble one of those therapist chairs.

The chocoholic in me would kill for a doctor to use such a chair:

Doc: So how are things? Handling your stress better since our last session?

Me: *omnoming on a cake piece, face and clothing coated in chocolate* Uh, yeah. Stress is so gone. Life is going great! Well, except for me gaining a few pounds since you’ve ordered this new chair. Oops, I think I crushed a section by sitting on it.

Doc: Oh that’s OK, it’s still good.

Me: Ah sweet! *Shoves the damaged cake into my mouth*

This cake was made by Leandro Erlich, as a direct replica of Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona couch. It was made from a large sheet of cake that was painstakingly frosted in such a way as to resemble the leather of a chair. Even from the photo, you can see that they had the look down to the leather like sheen. It was then posted in a galley exhibition where people oohed and ahh-ed over it and then ate it at an after party. You can have your cake furniture and eat it, too.
